Partnership
In March 2019, EME Foundation partnered with VESTAL EGBUKOLE FOUNDATION in its flagship disbursement edition for the women entrepreneurship scheme.
The VEF is a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit making Organization, conceived in memory of Late Ugoeze (Lady) Vestal C. Egbukole. It was born out of the desire to alleviate poverty in rural communities.
The Vestal Egbukole Female Entrepreneurship scheme (the flagship scheme) of the foundation is set up to encourage and support female entrepreneurship in Nigerian rural communities, to assist in funding small scale businesses, expansions of existing businesses and also support skills acquisition trainings.
This we believe will enable women meet up family obligations by supporting their spouses in providing for the family’s basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing and even school fees payments.
The Egbu Autonomous community was the first community to benefit from the scheme as 20 women from the 20 kindred in Egbu Autonomous community were identified as beneficiaries of the funds. They each received a non-interest-bearing trade loan of N120, 000.00 (One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira only).
